1 owner murdered, 1 shot during a home invasion in Harvest, now considered a targeted attack

Members of the Madison County Sheriff’s Office are at the scene of a home invasion on Lockhart Road in Harvest.

Brent Patterson of the Madison County Sheriff’s Office says there are two victims. One is confirmed dead.

Patterson said the victims were the owners and the two had been shot multiple times.

Madison County Coroner Dr Tyler Berryhill said the death was considered homicide.

He identified the victim as Sam Moore II, 43.

Family members tell WAAY 31 that the other victim is Demetrius Pettus.

Don Webster with HEMSI confirmed it was a shootout. One victim is a man, the other is a woman. Both were taken to Huntsville Hospital in “extremely dangerous condition”.

Patterson says no suspects are in custody.

The call arrived at 5:58 a.m. Thusday. There is no threat to the public, according to Patterson.
