Mission
Yeshivat Maharat is the first Orthodox institution committed to train and place women as Spiritual and Halakhic leaders. Yeshivat Maharat will also acclimate the Orthodox community to accept these women as Spiritual and Halakhic authorities.
|
Director, Rabba Sara Hurwitz Women’s scholarship and leadership in the Orthodox community has made tremendous strides over the past century, but the time has come for women to transform their Torah knowledge into service so that they can contribute to and shape the Jewish community. I have been given the responsibility
of touching the lives of so many people in my own congregation and around the world. All women, who have the capacity to be gifted leaders, teachers, and spiritual guides should be afforded that same opportunity. |
